Hey guys, I am delighted to announce I will be taking part in this years series, riding in three races to raise 10k for a charity very close to my heart Irish Injured Jockeys.
Every day they risk their lives in a job that they love, heroes in our eyes that bring so much to the sport but the reality is there can be hard times too. If you could help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Irish injured Jockeys, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
My first experience with racehorses was with Michael O'Brien and then worked I with James Burns breaking young horses and riding work. I currently help my husband with Pretrainers, showjumpers and hunters at home every day. As a wife of a jockeys I have the experience of the work that the IIJ Charity do. Not just for my own husband but for many of our friends who have experienced the highs and lows associated with being a Jockey. The support the charity provides really makes a difference to a jockey and their familys when they have fallen on hard times and that is why I have accepted this challenge. My Husband Paul was one of Irelands top National hunt Jockeys and had to retire due to Injury which is why I am doing this .We have three children two girls and one boy, the girls are super excited to see their mammy race and are already cheering me on ! Paul is my personal Jockey coach and has been putting me to the test already !
